A TV reporter came over to Pienaar on the field and asked, “What did it feel like to have 62,000 fans supporting you here in the stadium?”
テレビのレポーターが、競技場にいたピナールのもとへやってきてたずねました、「スタジアムには6万2000人のファンが応援していましたが、気分はどうでしたか？」
He replied, “We didn’t have 62,000 fans behind us.
ピナールは答えました、応援してくれたのは6万2000人のファンではありません。
We had 43 million South Africans.”
4300万人の南アフリカ国民なのです。
There were no old flags in the stadium.
スタジアムには古い国旗はありませんでした。
Everybody-in tears-was waving the new national flag.
一人ひとりが涙しながら、新しい国旗を振っていました。
