One year later John and Ace came back to Africa.
1年後に、ジョンとエースはアフリカに戻って来ました。
George said to them, “He’s been fine with the other lions.
ジョージは彼らに言いました、「クリスチャンは他のライオンたちと元気にやっています。
He loves his new life and behaves like a wild animal.”
彼は、新しい生活が好きで、野生動物のようにふるまっているよ」と言いました。
The two men were also told that it would be too dangerous to get near Christian now.
二人は、今、クリスチャンに近づくことはとても危険だ、とも言われました。

When they came to a field, a lion appeared.
二人が広場に来た時、一頭のライオンが現れました。
It was Christian!
それはクリスチャンでした！
Suddenly he started to run toward them.
突然クリスチャンは二人に向かって走りだしました。
In such a situation, anyone would shout, “Watch out!” in fright.
そのような状況では、誰でも恐怖のあまり「気をつけろ！」と叫ぶでしょう。
Christian, however, placed his big paws on Ace’s chest and started licking his face!
しかしながらクリスチャンは、大きな足をエースの胸に置いて、顔をなめ始めました！
He did the same to John.
ジョンにも同じことをしました。
“I can’t believe it. He remembers us!” said Ace.
「信じられない。彼は私達のことを覚えている！」とエースは言いました。
“I knew he wouldn’t forget us. I just knew it,” said John.
「彼は私達を忘れないだろうと僕は分かっていた。分かっていたよ」とジョンは言いました。

Later, Christian even took his old friends to see his new family.
その後、クリスチャンは彼の新しい家族を見せるために、古い友人たちを案内までしてくれました。
The men realized that true friendship and love have no limits.
二人は本当の友情と愛情には制限がないということを理解しました。
