聞き覚えの演奏
Everyone was amazed that a blind pianist could play so well.
盲目のピアニストがとてもすばらしい演奏をできることに誰もが驚いた。
But soon they were not even thinking that he was blind.
しかし、やがて彼が盲目であることを思い浮かべることさえしなくなっていた。
The musician was a 20-year-old pianist, Tsujii Nobuyuki.
この音楽家は20歳のピアニスト、辻井伸行さんだ。
His friends call him Nobu.
彼の友人は彼をノブと呼ぶ。
He has caused a sensation around the world.
彼は世界中にセンセーションを巻き起こした。

When Nobu’s parents learned that their son was blind, they were very sad.
ノブさんの両親は息子の目が見えないことを知ったって大変悲しんだ。
However, they soon discovered that he had a special talent.
しかし、すぐに彼には特別な才能のあることに気づいた。
When Nobu was two, he heard his mother sing “Jingle Bells. ”
ノブさんが2歳の時、お母さんが「ジングルベル」を歌うのを聞いた。
A few minutes later, he surprised her by playing the tune on his toy piano.
その数分後、彼はおもちゃのピアノでその曲を弾いてお母さんを驚かせた。

As soon as Nobu began taking piano lessons at the age of four, he surprised his teachers with his memory.

Nobu is able to read music by touch, but he likes to learn by ear.
