Bob thought a while about what he could do and said, “Look, we can do better than that.
ボブは、自分に何ができるかをしばらく考え、言いました。そうですね、もっといいことができますよ。
Get your son ready at seven o’clock Wednesday morning.
水曜日の朝7時に、息子さんが出かける用意をしておいてください。
We’ll make him an honorary firefighter for the whole day.
彼を1日間、名誉消防士にしましょう。
He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, and go out on all the fire calls.
彼に消防署に来てもらって、私達と食事をしましょう。
And, if you give us his sizes, we’ll get a real fire uniform made for him.”
彼の服のサイズを教えていただければ、本物の消防士のユニフォームを用意しましょう。

Three days later, Bob picked up Bopsy, dressed him in his fire uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook-and-ladder truck.
3日後、ボブはボプシーを迎えに行き、消防士のユニフォームに着替えさせ、病院のベッドから待機していたはしご付き消防車へ付き添いました。
Bopsy got to sit on the back of the truck when they went back to the fire station.
ボプシーは消防署に戻る時、消防車の後ろに座らせてもらいました。
He was in heaven.
彼は天にも昇る心地でした。
