At last, I was on top of my finished tower.
ついに、私は完成した塔の上にいました。
More and more people were coming to look at the windmill.
ますます多くの人が風車を見にやって来ていました。
They were standing around the tower and looking up.
彼らは塔の周りに立って見上げていました。
From the top, I could see the faces of my friends and the people I knew.
塔の上から、私には友達や知っている人々の顔が見えました。
There was little wind at first and the windmill did not turn.
最初はほとんど風がなくて、風車は回りませんでした。
Then, the wind became stronger, and the fan began to turn.
それから風が強くなって、羽根が回り始めました。
It turned slowly at first, then faster and faster, until the force of its motion rocked the tower.
最初はゆっくりと、それから徐々に速くなり、ついに羽根の動力で塔が揺れるほどになりました。
Finally, a small light came on, and then it became stronger.
とうとう小さな光がつき、そしてその光が強くなりました。
“It’s true!” someone said.
「本当だ！」と誰かが言いました。
“The boy has done it!”
あの少年がやったんだ！
Although this was only a little step toward my goal, it definitely brightened our future.
これは私にはの目標にとっては小さな一歩でしたが、確かに私達の将来を輝かせてくれました。
